Eating Disorder Recovery Group for Teens

This 8-week group is designed for teens grades 9 through 12 in eating disorder recovery. It provides structured support to complement their individual therapy. Please note that group is not a replacement for individual therapy.

Participants will connect with peers who share similar experiences and build a recovery-focused community. Each session will focus on a recovery-related topic through structured activities and open discussions. We will use the group to learn, review, and strengthen skills that allow individuals to practice recovery-oriented behaviors in their day-to-day lives.

Session 1: Motivation Session 2: Values and Identity Development without ED Session 3: Coping with Triggers Session 4: Meals In Real Life Session 5: Challenging Negative Self Talk Session 6: Communicating Effectively Session 7: Body Image Session 8: Social Media for ED Recovery Information Sheet

The group is a closed group in order to build trust and group cohesion. Individuals will commit to attending at least 6 of the 8 sessions, with full attendance being the preference. If desired, an individual may join the group for a second cycle.

The group is virtual and due to current licensing restrictions, participants must be physically located in Maryland in order to participate in the group.
